ADHD Adult Assessments
I offer comprehensive ADHD assessments for adults who are seeking clarity about attention, focus, impulsivity, and related difficulties. An assessment can help you better understand your experiences and, where appropriate, provide a formal diagnosis to support access to reasonable adjustments, treatment options, or further support.

My approach is thorough, evidence-based, and person-centred, taking into account your individual history, strengths, and challenges.
Overview

Who Is This Assessment For?
An ADHD assessment may be helpful if you:

-
Struggle with concentration, organisation, or time management
-
Feel restless, impulsive, or easily overwhelmed
-
Have long-standing difficulties affecting work, study, or relationships
-
Suspect ADHD but have never been formally assessed
-
Are seeking clarity later in life after coping for many years
Assessments are available for adults (18+).

What Does the Assessment Involve?
The assessment process is designed to be comprehensive while remaining supportive and collaborative.

1. Initial Enquiry and Screening
You will begin by completing:
-
An initial screening questionnaire
-
Background and developmental history forms
This helps determine whether a full ADHD assessment is appropriate.

2. Comprehensive Assessment Appointment(s)
The full assessment typically includes:
-
A detailed clinical interview covering childhood, education, work, relationships, and mental health history
-
Exploration of current ADHD-related difficulties and strengths
-
Use of standardised, evidence-based ADHD assessment tools
-
Consideration of alternative or co-occurring difficulties (e.g. anxiety, depression, trauma)
Assessment appointments take place either in a single extended session or split across sessions.

3. Additional Information (Where Possible)
Where appropriate, additional information may be requested, such as:
-
A questionnaire completed by someone who knew you in childhood
-
School reports or other historical documents (if available)
This helps build a fuller picture, though lack of documentation will not automatically prevent assessment.

4. Feedback and Outcome
Following the assessment:
-
You will receive a clear verbal feedback session
-
Where diagnostic criteria are met, a formal ADHD diagnosis will be provided
-
ADHD subtype (if applicable) will be discussed
-
Differential diagnoses will be considered and explained

5. Written Report
You will receive a comprehensive written report including:
-
Assessment methods used
-
Clinical findings and diagnostic conclusions
-
Practical recommendations
-
Suggestions for workplace or educational adjustments (if relevant)
Reports are typically provided within 2 weeks of the assessment.

After the Assessment
If ADHD is identified, support may include:
-
Psychoeducation about ADHD
-
Recommendations for therapy or coaching
-
Guidance around workplace or academic adjustments
-
Liaison or signposting regarding medication options (where appropriate)
Ongoing therapeutic support is available but not required.
